Lagoon Roller Coaster

WBC provided the deep foundations and structural concrete for this highly anticipated new attraction. The deep foundation system consisted of 24,000 feet of driven steel pipe pile. The structural concrete included a 3 foot thick mat foundation and 85 foot tall core walls with corners having obtuse angles. The project required innovative solutions and sequencing to maintain adequate crane access for driving pile as well as hoisting the core wall formwork system. Besides safely constructing the difficult core walls, WBC successfully coordinated mat foundation pours so that concrete placing rates exceed 200 CY/hr.
