District Attorney Parking Structure

Wadsworth built this $2.7 Million parking structure for the new Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office in downtown Salt Lake City, UT. Wadsworth provided 320 parking stalls over 5 levels. The structure is a self-ramping 8-inch post-tensioned flat plate. The lateral load resisting system consists of shear walls bearing on mat footings. One level was constructed below grade. For footing and foundation construction, proximity to adjacent property lines required Wadsworth’s expertise in earth retention systems. Once slab on grade was down, Wadsworth used high-velocity concrete forming and shoring systems to meet the aggressive vertical pour schedule, while meeting the owner’s exacting concrete finish requirements. A tight downtown site required close coordination with Salt Lake City, the Matheson Courthouse, and neighboring business owners. This 105,000 square foot garage is a nice open place to park for those working in the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office.
