(ST.GEORGE, UTAH) May 1, 2009 – Wadsworth Brothers Construction joined with officials from the city of St. George, the Utah Department of Transportation and Representative Jim Matheson to break ground on a new traffic bridge across the Santa Clara River which was destroyed during the devastating floods of January 2005.

Construction of the $6.2 million replacement bridge will commence June 1 on Valley View Drive, near the Tonaquint intersection and will alleviate a bottleneck on the five-lane road. The project is scheduled for completion in 2010.

Wadsworth Brothers Construction has been directly involved in over 71 million dollars of work in the St. George area, with over 39 million dollars of contracts being awarded and performed by local contractors and suppliers from the community.

The company is currently working on the Atkinville/Southern Parkway at Exit 2 on I-15 to the new River Road (at the time the largest CM/GC project in the State of Utah) scheduled for completion in June of 2009; the Bluff Street Interchange Project to be completed in May 2009; and the Southern Interchange Phase 2 Grading Package, involving an additional 3.5 miles of roadway and two structures, with a completion date of December 2009.
